Random Crafts sprang to life in the summer of 2007. After many hours of high street drudgery trying to find something 'different' for a friend's birthday, I decided to make a gift and card for her myself. The present was received with great pleasure and following this success I continued to hand-make my own gifts, which I could tailor to suit each individual.

As an artist, this was easy enough for me to do. It did occur to me, however, that not everybody had the time or the inclination to do the same. It seemed such a shame to me that there were so many talented, small-scale artists in the world, who were unable to offer their work for public sale simply because of the costs involved.

What we needed was a website, with one set of running costs, through which many individual craftspeople could advertise and sell. That was the moment 'Random Crafts' was born. Since then several other artists have joined me and together we hope to help this little venture grow into a successful business.
